June Newsletter

365 Days of Children's Books Monthly Newsletter
June 2, 2011

The 365 Days of Children's Books blog had close to 1500 visitors last month!  Thank you to all that visited.  If you haven't check it out yet, please be sure to.

Participants in May Reading Challenge
There were only 57 form submissions during the April Reading Challenge. If you want to check out what everyone read during May you can do still do that, just click on the coloured words in this sentence.

May Winners
Breakwater Books provided prizes for the May Reading Challenge that we had one book left over for a prize for a participant in our May challenge.  The number given me through the random number generator at Random.org was number 36 and the participant that filled out form number 36 was Danette.  Congratulations to you all for participating and a big thank you to Breakwater Books again for donating the prizes.

Everyone that participates is eligible to receive a certificate and a list of the books they submitted. You can check out a sample of the reports you can receive by clicking on the coloured words in this sentence.  Email me to let me know if you want these and to let me know where to send them.

June Challenge
Continue to make it a goal to read everyday.  Don't worry if you miss reading or recording each day, the main thing is to read.  It's also a great idea to record what you read somehow.  You can visit the Reading Challenge page and use the form there to record your reading.  At the end of the month you can recieve a certificate and list of the books you submit for you to print and keep in a special place.

Throughout the month it is fun to check out what every one is reading as we watch the spreadsheet at the bottom of the Reading Challenge page fill up.

No Prizes for June
Due to the fact that the number of participants in the contest has dropped considerably there will be no prizes available for the month of June.  I just can't justify approaching companies for donations of prizes with so few participants.  If the number of participants does pick up again it will justify once again seeking prizes.  We'll have to see what the future holds.

Make sure you keep checking 365 Days of Children's Books blog for more suggestions of books for you and the child in your life to enjoy.  I feature a different children's book there every day.  I'd love it if you would help spread the word about the blog and the reading challenge.  It would also make my day if you took a moment to leave a comment on this newsletter blog and/or on the 365 Days of Children's Books blog every once in a while.

Happy Reading!
